Overusing a Massage Chair

Many people will sit in a comfortable chair for several hours at a time to read a book, watch television or simply to relax. However, if you are sitting in a massage chair for this length of time it is very important that you not have the massage on that length of time. Almost all of the back and massage chair experts say that you should not use the massage programs in a massage chair for more than 15 minutes at a time and after you use the massage they say it is best to get up, move around, even go for a short walk to fully enjoy the benefits of the massage chair.

Massage chairs have crossed over the border from being just simple vibrating chairs to become full fledged therapeutic medical devices. Properly used they provide a very deep back massage that, if over used, can bruise, inflame and damage muscle and other body tissue. To put it simply, too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing in this case.

Most massage chairs have build in timers for the massage programs to prevent this kind of overuse. Make sure the chair you purchase has a timer or that you use some external timer to prevent running the massage for too long. Simply watching the clock may not be the best idea. Massage chairs are designed to be comfortable in addition to providing health benefits so it would not be uncommon to fall asleep in one with the massage turned on. A simple alarm clock nearby may be all that you need to remind you to turn the massage off but a built in timer to automatically turn the massage off is the best option.

This does not mean that you cannot sit in a massage chair for extended periods of time with the massage turned off. 20 or 30 years ago massage chairs were cushy novelty items that often were not correctly designed to provide healthy back support. The modern massage chair, however, in almost all cases is anatomically correct for good back health. Most conventional chairs in the world today do not provide support for all 3 curves in the back; lumbar for lower back, thoracic for middle back and cervical for upper back. Massage chairs, however, generally provide support for all areas of the human back. So not only is a massage chair great for massage but they are usually also the best posture chairs in households so feel free to use them for watching television, reading and almost all general purpose seating.

If you have back pain or back problems make sure you consult with your doctor or chiropractor before purchasing and using a massage chair. There are several different types of massage available in massage chairs; Shiatsu, Swedish massage and variations or a combination of the two and most chairs allow you to vary the intensity of the massage as well. Your doctor may recommend a certain brand or type of massage chair. So by all means, enjoy your massage chair to the fullest and sit in it whenever you want and for as long as you want but don't use the massage programs for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Massage Chair- Great Stress Reliever

Do you need to relax after a long day at work? Many Americans come home and sit in from of the TV watching their favorite programs.

If you are one of us, then you should consider making that whole experience even better. If you got a massage chair you would have one of the best stress relievers right in front of the TV. Doesn?t that sound good? And massage chairs are fairly easy to get these days.

Massage chairs come in a variety shapes, colors and sizes. If you go to stores like Brookstone or Sharper image you can get an idea of what types of chairs are on the market. If I happen by Sharper Image, I usually take a look at the new models.

I even have a hard time getting my child out of the chairs. She thinks she should have one in her room. What a kid! You could get ones that hold your remote control or ones that have a place especially designed for holding a cup. That is perfect for a person who wants to sit back and watch the game on Sunday or relax one afternoon watching a movie.

If you find the right chair but the color is all wrong it doesn?t matter, there is probably one available in the color you are looking for, whether it is sea foam green or black.

Check the internet for the main dealers. There is also a chair for any budget. In fact, consider buying your chair online, there is a much greater selection available.

Once you have your chair in the perfect spot be careful, it is addictive and others will always try to steal your seat. So I recommend you go out and buy yourself a massage chair, it?s a great way to pamper yourself.

Massage chairs are a great way to relax. They offer the occupant a way to escape the stress of the day. These chairs have become widely available. There are many manufactures and many different styles, looks, features, and models available. To find the right one for you, you simply need to research a little. Purchasing a massage chair will be an expensive investment, so doing some homework will save you some money.

First, consider what you want out of your massage chair. Obviously you want a good chair massage, but many of these chairs offer more than just that. Other features include heat some even include an anti gravity mechanism. One very popular massage chair is the Ijoy massage chair. This massage chair has become one of the most popular among Americans. These chairs offer something called, "Human Touch" with sensors that resemble the feel of a massage given by a person including the rolling, kneading, tapping and compression.

Now that you are interested in purchasing a massage chair, you must think about what type you would like. You will also need to know how much you are willing to spend as well. Many of these massage chairs are expensive, but well worth it. You can find massage chairs in local malls and even in furniture sales shops. You can also research the multitude of choices you have on the internet, then, once you have found a few to try locate their local dealerships. This will give you a great idea of what you want, can afford, and like in a massage chair.

Massage chairs are awesome accessories to a home. Think about much you will look forward to coming home after a long days work, you muscles tense and sore to you relax them in your massage chair. Review Of Omega Massage's New 5000 Deluxe Massage Chair

The M-5000 Deluxe massage chair by Omega Massage will leave you feeling like you have been spoiled silly. With all the features and benefits, plus an impressive array of bonuses, your greatest struggle with this chair will be getting out of it. The 5000 Deluxe is the flagship of Omega's brand new line of massage chairs, manufactured in Japan and assembled in China.

Genuine premium Ox hide leather covers this chair beautifully to allow the softest, most comfortable seat in the house. In addition, an ergonomically designed dual headrest pillow accommodates for people with different body types, thus making the massage session more effective for that individual.

When you sit down in this chair, the technology will scan your body shape and weight against the chair to customize the massage track length and roller width according to your own body type. With a massage track that strokes a 28 inch length, which is a few inches longer than the average human spine, you will get your body worked from your neck down to your pelvis. An issue I have with a lot of other massage chair recliners is that they don’t massage the sacrum (the triangular bone at the base of your spine and between your pelvic bones, in the back), which is a common area of complaint for low back pain sufferers.

Because this chair scans your specific body type, you cannot specify a lower or higher shoulder height if your determined height does not suit your preferences of the area that needs the massage most.

In addition to the basic massage feature of working up and down your back, the Omega M-5000 Deluxe will also work your neck and shoulders, relieving common fatigue and pain most commonly found in people that do computer work or stationary work. The auto feature of this massage technique allows for a precise pinpoint treatment to those common ailments.

And as the massage works its way down your back, it also works your waist and low back more effectively. Many massage chairs tend to miss this area, or cannot effectively work this region. But low back pain is the most common reason people see a Doctor for back pain, and is estimated that 4 out of 5 people will deal with low back pain at some point in their life. That’s practically every person. The targeted pressure points from this feature are effectively relieved, allowing stress and tension to dissipate from that region of the back, leaving you feeling improved and relieved of this most common low back symptom.

You can also recline this chair from 115 to 175 degrees to really sink into the chair. The seat of the chair is not considered ‘oversized’ so as the chair reclines, the seat space is minimized. This chairs design overall is not accommodating to larger people, with the measurements and technology only suiting a person 200 lbs or less.

With a total of 6 rollers and 5 pre-set sessions to work your back, neck, shoulders, and waist/low back- it seems enough of a chair at that. But that’s not all. The Omega M-5000 Deluxe also works your thighs, buttocks, calves, and feet.

3D Air Pressure for the lower body is customizable for your tolerance, as well as 2 pre-set programs for the calves and feet to effectively use reflexology and pressure points to relieve common symptoms of fatigue and stress in the lower body. Nodules in the feet are utilized when the air bags are activated, stimulating acupressure points. No other massage chair uses both air and nodules in this area as effectively together.

Omega chairs boast the use of Japanese-made parts, which are assembled in China, instead of Chinese or Taiwanese parts that have a reputation of wearing out quicker. The ratio breakdown using cheaper components is the primary reason that chairs need repair or maintenance work.

With extra features like a pop-up tray on the side of the c hair for convenience, a holder for the remote to keep it still accessible, an MP3 player that is compatible with windows 2000/XP and headsets, all of these features are added for the same reason: To increase your ability to relax, therefore maximizing the benefit of a massage for overall health and a stress free life.

The only “knock” against the Omega 5000 DLX, if you can call it that, is that it is a relatively new chair, not as well known as the Interactive Health or Panasonic massage recliners. But, to put your mind at ease, Omega offers a whopping 5-year warranty, unparalleled in the massage chair industry. By the way, the warranty also includes a 90-day in-home service warranty the minute your chair is up and running in your home or office.

An Introduction to Massage Chairs

A comfortable recliner is the prime parking spot for many-a-man. Try plopping down in your dad’s recliner and see how long it takes for him to make you move. Companies continue to produce chairs that are becoming increasingly comfortable, attractive and sophisticated. Their popularity has spawned an evolution among recliners.

Today, more than ever, massage chairs are gaining popularity. With people working longer hours, having longer commute times and generally just more stressed out, massage chairs provide a way for people to relax their muscles in the comfort of their own homes. Although many people continue to prefer the firm kneading of a professional massage therapist, massage chairs offer similar results for less long-term costs and immediate availability.

Today’s massage chairs are ergonomically correct and technologically advanced. Most of us remember the massage chairs of the past that would vibrate violently. They were not necessarily the most comfortable places to sit. Modern massage chairs have the ability to target trigger points on the body, which experts claim helps to release endorphins. These endorphins are said to help ease pain and tension the affected areas. Massage therapists also target these trigger points.

Most massage chair representatives recommend customers not to overuse the massage chairs. Some of today’s models are designed to give deep massages that can cause bruising if used too much. Most experts say that a fifteen-minute massage is the limit. You should get up and walk around and take a little break before coming back for another massage. The goal is to ease tension and muscle pain, not to create more pain that you originally had.

These ever-morphing massage chairs are likely to continuing advancing in the years ahead. Manufacturers are striving to create the best massage chair on the market and ones that more closely resemble human touch. With these advances, you can also expect hefty price tags to follow. Today’s models are no exception. Prices for standard models usually start at around $1500 and can reach upwards of $4,000 for the top models. You can often find these at good discounts online but remember that shipping for the product can cost up to $200.
